During their studies in Australia, the Directors of Econsave would regularly visit its local supermarkets and the concept of the supermarkets had given them the idea to modernize their family’s sundry shop in Malaysia.

The history of Econsave began with a wooden sundry shop in Port Klang in 1955 named Rong Long operated by the Directors’ parents which allows the Directors to acquire retailing skills and knowledge. Through years of hard work and perseverance, while constantly adapting to changes in the retail scene, Econsave has emerged as one of the largest grocery retailers in Malaysia.
